Ice Machine FAQ

  • How much does each unit produce in a 24-hour period?

Depends on the size of the machine. We can help you determine what size is needed based on your demand.  We most commonly sell units that can produce 50 – 2000 lbs.

  • Does each ice machine hold the amount of ice it produces?

No, it depends on the bin used. Some machines have smaller bins than the unit can produce while larger units may have a bin to hold more than can be produced. We can help you to determine what you need to have on hand.

  • How much ice do I need if I’m planning an event?

As a rule, we suggest 2 lbs per person if you are serving ice in cups to pour drinks into. If you are icing down food and/or storing products in portable coolers, you should take that into consideration. We can help you determine what you need to have on hand.

  • How often should my ice machine be cleaned?

It depends on how much it is being used. We can discuss this with you to suggest whether you need monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annual preventative maintenance.

  • Can I clean my ice machine myself?

Yes, we can come in and train you and/or your staff on how to clean your machine properly. Specific cleaners and filters are required to make sure your machine is not damaged.

  • What do I do if my machine is only making slush is running through rather than making ice?

Call us for service and/or troubleshooting over the phone.

  • Can I add a filtration system to my machine at any time or just at the time it is purchased?
